I really appreciated Krisha's comments about how Asian Americans tend to think of imperialism only in terms of Western imperialism and not in the forms that occur today and affect people living in Asia. Loved learning about Wendy Carbonell and her courage in "standing up to China’s intimidation, its flouting of international arbitration, and its constant posturing." I think Krisha and I are living parallel lives; We both do human rights law and care a lot about on-the-ground resistance in our respective countries, Philippines & Taiwan. Would love to connect with her and thank you for sharing this work with the world. <3 <3
